For the past two school years, COVID has made a large impact on teaching and learning for students in my 3rd grade Math, Science, and Social Studies classes. This school year, we are required to teach dual modality in the case that student(s) are quarantined. While this has definitely been a challenge in my teaching career, it has broadened my awareness of the importance of technological resources and devices in this new age of teaching. With these resources, I will be able to ensure that my students' learning experience is equally effective whether they are in the classroom with me or at home on Zoom. These technological devices will allow students to have the exact same access to my lessons, educational videos, and tests. My school is also a gold-designated STEAM school meaning that there is a technological aspect to our learning. Considering the varying exceptionalities that are present in my classroom, tools such as the document reader will allow me to project my classroom resources on a large board for all students to view. The keyboard will provide students the ability to interact directly with the technology present in our classroom. Aside from these benefits, these tools also spark the interests of my students in the subjects of math and science which tend to be areas that students lack confidence in mastering some of the skills. The third grade curriculum is heavily based on mastering the skills of multiplication fluency. These tools will provide an interactive experience with minimal costs.
