With these books, I will be able to provide each of my students with their own book: Island of the Blue Dolphins to follow along as I read - or as a classmate reads. We will be focusing on English Language Art standards as well as Social Studies standards. For instance, we will be analyzing vocabulary, summarizing, and learning more about Native Americans and geography. With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I plan on purchasing materials such as graphic organizers or pre-made novel study guides which will help make the content easier to understand and more engaging. Students will use these books and learning activities daily so that they can understand what they are reading and apply the skills that they are learning.
