It is my desire that the addition of updated books to our classroom library will spark a revival of interest in the humble, hand held book. These last few years, students have made leaps and bounds in learning through technology and while this is a great advancement, I want to be able to continue to provide my students the opportunity to access a variety of up to date fiction and non fiction books. We can use these daily in the classroom, as well as for students to take home and use with their families. Our classroom library has always provided an opportunity for students to borrow and return books thus making reading a lesson in integrity and responsibility as well. The library is important because students cannot take classroom technology home with them and sometimes technology at home is unavailable. By providing them access to a library they can independently use, they are assured to have just the right book level for them to practice at home regardless of in home resources or parent availability.

About my class
