I am requesting items which will help my students during circle time, play time and even recess. These sensory items and fidgets are an important part of our classroom to help with regulating emotions and gaining and maintaining attention during large group activities. By donating to our classroom, you will be supporting the diverse needs of our students in the preschool classroom throughout all times of the day. My preschoolers will have the opportunity to use these resources in our classroom during in person learning. During circle time, my students have the opportunity to access sensory items to help them better access the circle time activities. One of my students for example, flips through a Melissa and Doug book that has the bubbles on the pages while he listens to the lesson during circle time. Holding this book is an important strategy he uses to access the sensory input he needs to in order to attend to the lesson. My preschoolers learn from all forms of sensory input and these items in this project will help the student learn each day.
