Reading is a foundation for all learners, it is important that I provide my students with a vast variety of books. The books students choose can tell you a lot about who they are and what their interests are. By providing them with books of all kinds, they feel empowered to explore the endless possibilities of what books can give them. Books will help students find their goals and passions! By having these books, the students are seeing their interests and dreams come alive. I love when my students share what they have read with me and it warms me to see how impactful a book can be for them. I cannot wait to read these books with my class and share all the great moments that will come out of them. Each book has a different story and purpose, I love showing students how they can find themselves in each book and how they can apply to their lives. Books give students a deeper understanding of the world and the people around them. I find that books help me have hard conversations with my students. Conversations shape our class and that comes with the help of books. Books show students the differences in others and how special each of them is! It feeds their curiosity and shapes their minds. I want my students to acknowledge themselves and their peers' differences and how that must be celebrated!
