Teaching children with behavioral disabilities to have constructive ways to relax while still being productive is the first step to this project. They will be using the Readaeer Round Knitting Looms to make hats and scarves. Giving them a sense of accomplishment by making projects that we can donate to others can help build their self-esteem while also teaching them the wonderful feeling of doing for others. The students will first make a winter hat for themselves. Then they can choose to make hats or scarves to donate to people in our local community. I will give them examples of where we could donate, but they will make the decision.
