During the pandemic, students have lost numerous hours of classroom instruction time. Without being directly in front of our students, we don't know how actively engaged they are. This project would assist my students in building vocabulary that is age and grade-appropriate for their continuing education. In this activity, students will be challenged to use both sides of the brain. In order to make the vocabulary fun and a little less monotonous, we will find the vocabulary in an interesting word search. The student will then define the word with an actual dictionary, all while using gel pens that will be checked out at the beginning of class. To bring my dream of actively learning to life my students will build and develop vocabulary words/skills that may have diminished during the pandemic.
