In today's pandemic world, we need to make sure students in science get what they signed up for. And that is a lab experience. This equipment will allow our students a more engaging experience of learning about the world(s) around us by being able to observe our surroundings, not only in the classroom but also in exploring the micro world in our community. Our students will become more engaged through the multiple activities during the semester. We will look at the properties of soil, metals, plants, and lots of open-ended time to explore our world under the microscope. As we all know, teachers have a hard time funding their classrooms with materials and resources that they need to help students succeed. However, our schools and teachers have a difficult task of providing students with the highest level of education due to the lack of resources and support when local funding is not available. Not only will this microscope help students with vision loss feel included in completing science activities, but it will also allow all of my students to capture images and videos of their specimens in ways that our other classroom microscopes cannot.
