The 6th grade Earth Science students look forward to the Ecosystem Project all year. They develop, plan, and construct their terrariums as a culminating activity to finalize the Ecosystem Unit and to celebrate the end of the year. It's adorable to see these cute 6th graders carrying around their terrariums throughout the day like proud parents. This is a valuable learning experience. My adorable students learn to use the Science and Engineering Practices before the project and then they continue to be responsible and care for their living ecosystem at home.
