My online classroom is a dynamic place with live classes and demos that illustrate important science concepts. I teacher earth science, astronomy, as well as biology and climate science. Helping students collect and analyze data is a focus of my projects. The students do not have any lab equipment at their homes, but they do have the equipment we use in class. Students also have many simulations they use to test ideas by changing conditions in experimental settings. We have investigated soil erosion, carbon dioxide emissions, the effect of melting ice, ground water flow after well drilling, plate tectonics, changes in mouse genetics as a result of predation, and how the Great Barrier Reef is changing as the water gets hotter. We use the donated lab equipment to extend our simulations into the real world.
