Several reading goals and objectives would be taught with this project. Students will be able to retell stories, including fables and folktales in a small classroom setting while in our Title I classrooms. Students will practice reading with accurate fluency to support comprehension. Students will also use the information gained from illustration, print, and digital text to demonstrate an understanding of a passage. In addition, students will read and comprehend grade level literature and expository texts, focusing on the areas they need more assistance so that they can become proficient readers. Since students will have access to 21st-century technology, instruction can be tailored to the multiple learning modalities and styles of each student. Additionally, using the tools provided by this grant, teachers will be able to accurately pair interventions to the student's identified reading deficit. Additionally, students will be successful due to their active engagement and increased motivation to learn. Reading specialists will be providing reading interventions with small groups of students according to individual learning levels. Beginning September 2021, homeroom teachers will identify students who are at-risk in the area of reading. The team will identify appropriate interventions to address students' reading weaknesses. Students will utilize the iPads and strategically selected applications for 45 minutes daily in order to increase their reading proficiency. Data will be collected and analyzed and students will be working on individualized goals. Data for students will also be shared with homeroom teachers so that a student's progress is up-to-date. Data and results will also be shared amongst the school's MTSS team throughout the year.
