We are very fortunate at our school to have an outdoor garden. Through the years, my students have been curious about other ways people can grow food. This project will give students a hands-on learning opportunity to not only answer their own questions, but delve further into the subject and ask more. A hydroponic garden will give students the experience of recording their hypotheses, caring for and managing the garden, and ultimately being responsible for their own learning in an exciting and delicious way. My hope is that this is the first small step to creating a larger hydroponic garden where students will be able to teach others and bring healthy food home or share with their class.
