I am writing to you asking to help our Physical Education Program. These items will directly impact our scholars at Heritage Academy in Maricopa, AZ. This is my first year at Heritage Academy and I took the position knowing that the school is underfunded when it compares to other schools across the county. Arizona ranks 49th when we look at spending under $10,000 per pupil which is well below the national average of $15,000. This directly impacts our physical education program where we do not have enough equipment or a variety of equipment to keep up with the needs of our scholars to enhance their fitness or wellness goals. My school has been open for three years and we have heavily relied on donations/fundraising to purchase equipment that we desperately need. In regard to the physical education program, I have listed equipment that will suit a class of 36 students for different sport, fitness and wellness units. The equipment and quantities listed are “best case scenario” but we would be grateful for any help you can give the program. Thank you for your help and support! Tony Rowan
