My plan is to provide a fun reading project which connects to everything we will be learning in Chemistry. The class set of The Martian, by Andy Weir will allow us to read the novel together and then study and reproduce the chemistry the main character uses throughout the novel. Mark, the main character, is stranded on Mars. In order to survive, he must apply his knowledge of chemistry, physics, botany, etc. Will my students be able to survive??? Only if they know their chemistry. Please, help me provide this fun learning opportunity!
