Due to the pandemic, many of my students experienced virtual learning last year while some students attended school face-to-face. My students came to me at varying levels this school year due to this, which is why I want to help my students reach their academic goals this year to promote student achievement and engagement. One barrier that we're experiencing at my school is the availability of technology. My students are not able to access instructional programs/platforms such as: iReady Reading & Math, Epic Books, Seesaw, Nearpod, Khan Academy, McGraw Hill Education (online instructional materials), FlipGrid, and Illuminate Education. All of these programs are amazing academic programs that can provide targeted instruction for a more personalized educational experience for my students. Students will be able to enhance their educational journey in my classroom with the use of this technology. The use of these laptops will empower my student's research throughout their yearlong STEAM project (Promoting Healthy Eating for our Oakley Family), allow students to participate in personalized learning through the use of many different instructional programs/platforms, and increase their academic performance with the use of this technology implementation in our learning environment. The use of technology will foster increased opportunities for learning and achievement in my classroom. Integrating technology will better prepare my students for the future and ignite their engagement throughout the learning process.
