I want to print books for the students to write and illustrate on their own. We will read a new book every few weeks and then focus on what it takes to write and illustrate a book. For example, in October we will read the book “10 Creep Monsters”. Then we will create a book called My 10 Creepy Monsters Book where the children will rewrite their own version of what happens to the 10 monsters through out the night. This will teach them how to handle printed books, math and drawing the different amounts of monsters on each page. And it will help us in our literature curriculum by discussing authors and illustrators. And it will help us in writing teaching the children to write new words and sounding out the words they want to write. We need papers printed with lines in them and pages that can go in their books for them to illustrate.
