Many of the children receiving speech and language services have high levels of energy and sensory needs. Providing a comfortable and stationary place to sit will greatly increase their ability to participate! Providing different books for children throughout the year increases language skills and exposure through vocabulary, responding to questions, identifying pictures, increasing print awareness, etc. I use books to target both expressive and receptive language skills, which most of my students struggle with. Using books is a fun way to keep the kids engaged as well as create activities to go alongside each book. Thank you for your support!
