My students are in my class primarily for technical training. Many of their goals are to attend a technical High school and become proficient in a trade. Our school primarily caters to a low socioeconomic environment. Therefore the children do not have many opportunities outside of school. They are also on a constant emotional high alert in their home environments and typically the only safe haven they have is school. It is their comfort and safe zone. I try to make my room as user friendly and welcoming as possible. Having the additional white board will make the room less visually congested.
