My students will engage in social play and build their social skills using Lego's and Playstix. They will explore and identify their emotions, build self-awareness skills, and their confidence. My students lack the social skills, coping skills, and self-awareness skills needed to be successful in the classroom. By supporting my students through modeling and guided social play activities my students will be prepared when interacting with their peers in the general education classroom. Using the 'My Feelings Journals' my student's will have the social awareness skills necessary to identify their emotions and the opportunity to put into practice the skills they need when participating in the general education classroom.

About my class
