I want to bring diversity and inclusion into our classroom community. It is important for students, especially at a young age to be exposed to "big" topics. My students love picture books! Picture books that are relatable to their lives are an excellent tool for teaching these little minds about the important events occurring in our world. We foster a classroom community where all people are welcome - no matter what! I want my students to feel safe, loved, and possess an understanding for respecting all people in our world. My students will love getting their hands on these pictures books and other learning tools, as well as having important class conversations.
