Oftentimes, our youth are pushed to study something practical, something that will make money, as if the arts aren't filled with opportunities! My arts and communication pathway core class allows students to explore different careers and fully realize their potential. My class will expose students to a variety of hands-on project to gauge their interest in different fields of study. Drawing fashion croquis, creating meal/workout plans, and writing poetry are just a few examples of what we do in my class. At the end of the year, the Earth Without Art project will give students a chance to look at their strengths to collaborate and tell a story; some will be writers, others will act as artists, and some will be actors. Those interested in digital media arts will edit it into a video. To best prepare my students, I would like to purchase lesson plans from Teachers Pay Teachers. While I know a lot about visual arts, I am sadly lost to performing arts and music. Access to lesson plans crafted by professionals will go a long way in helping my students with their final project.
