These materials will be added to my classroom library for students to read during our independent reading time. I am hoping that it will help kindle the love of learning and reading within my students. Many of my students have already shown interest in the few books available in my classroom library, and I want to best support my 100+ students. Reading and Learning about issues students deal with daily helps empower students, creates an avenue to express complex feelings and emotions, and makes students feel seen. I want every student who enters my classroom to feel like they can see themselves in the books on the shelves of a classroom that they spend 90 minutes a day in. I have many of these authors' photos and quotes printed and posted around my room. Students have been asking to see what books they have written, and I want to provide them that opportunity Thank you for taking the time to learn about my project, and thank you for giving to youth opportunities to make education as equitable as possible!!
