What child does not love to explore the puddles during a gentle rain or listen to the rain hit the leaves on a tree? I would love to be able to provide my preschoolers with the opportunity to explore the outdoors rain or shine. By providing one piece rain suits, my students will be able to explore the way the rain feels on their hands and how it sounds hitting their hat while staying dry at the same time. On days it is raining or just rained I would like to utilize their gross motor time, outdoor time, as well as choice time to stomp through the muddle puddles, make mud cakes, and roll in the wet grass. These are sensory experiences they may not otherwise get to experience and I can provide them in a safe environment. This year we have also opened up an outdoor classroom space. The children will have more access to the outdoor classroom by having rain suits as we wont have to skip days when it is raining.
