These materials will make a difference in students' social emotional learning by improving their overall engagement and interaction within my classroom. Students look forward to treats and rewards, even if it's as small as a cold gatorade and/or a popped bag of popcorn, for getting the highest score in the class, having perfect attendance, and/or being first to finish an assignment. Sometimes they need a tangible and immediate reward as the long term outcome of having improved academic performance is too far ahead for them to see and work for.
