A new year means new beginnings, and I am excited to implement Lucy Calkins' writer's workshop for my 1st graders. Writing can be very intimidating for young students, and I want to show them the endless possibilities that exist in the world of writing. My goal is for my students to see themselves as authors and illustrators, and these resources will help them achieve this goal. Giving students a variety of tools and resources to create their writing will also fuel their enthusiasm. That means different kinds of paper, fun gel pens, staplers and stamps to use with their writing.
