Can you imagine being a 3rd-grade student who hasn't been in a "real" school building since 1st-grade? Many of our children have spent this time on various types of screens while only using their hands for controllers or computers! Together we can get them off screens and enjoy using their hands and imaginations to create art that explores their unique place in the world. Using social-emotional learning texts, our class will have rich class discussions about self, learning, and respect, and then translate what they have learned into reflective pieces of art exploring the rich mediums of watercolor and oil pastels on art-grade paper. These projects and art mediums will challenge them beyond the simple crayons they've used since KIndergarten. Student creations will be displayed throughout the school and community. I have also included some seating options for students, who are not used to being in chairs for a full school day.
