This array of novels will increase my students' passion of reading. These novels are by authors that look like them and the stories are relatable and will pique their interest. My students will have an opportunity to read independently 5 days a week and will be able to reflect on their reading at the end of each week. I will create reading logs so that they will be able to keep track of their reading progress and provide them with journals to keep track of their thought process while reading.
