One of my biggest goals as a teacher is to encourage students to love and enjoy reading. Studies have shown that students who read for pleasure, develop strong language skills compared to students who read because it is a requirement. My goal with this class is to have them start reading chapter books. Many of my students don’t have books at home and I would like to be able to provide them with books they can keep at home. I also want to have a variety of books that I can read to them during read aloud time.
