These items will help my 4-grade students have a creative way to express and address their emotions. The pandemic has left some feeling unmotivated, anxious, and at times unmotivated. I would love to use these items with them to help change the way they view their current circumstance, use it as an outlet, and express their emotions and thoughts freely. As a professional school counselor, it is important that I incorporate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) daily and it is my plan to use these journals during my classroom SEL lessons on a weekly basis. It is a creative way to check in. To use as a tool during collaborative discussions to help all of us become comfortable with big emotions and practice a positive student mindset. It is my hope that we combat any negative academic emotions.
