I teach kindergartners in a low social economic area. Thus, many of my students have limited resources at home. Although they may have basic supplies such as pencils and paper, kindergartners learn through play, and it is important for them to be able to work with different materials that they can manipulate such as Play-doh, kinetic sand and building blocks. These materials will enable my students to discover different ways to make letters and numbers. They can focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) along with reading and writing.
