My goal is to create a classroom that is print rich and conducive to learning. Reading plays a dominant role in education. A child must be able to read in order to be successful in school. As an educator I believe that reading is very important. Reading promotes critical thinking skills and builds a child’s imaginative skills. Some of my students are experiencing difficulties with reading, and I want to entend myse and my goal is to create an environment that promotes reading. With these materials, students will be engage in any lesson been taught. They will be more comfortable and excited especially during ELA lessons. For example: The shelves will be used to display books that are age appropriate and of interest to students, and the canopy will be use for small group reading. In my classroom, I have witnessed that my students love to rock which I often try to correct. However, research has shown that having a rocking chair for students to use can smooth the brain and facilitate concentration with the ability to think logically which provides overall better cognitive processing. A rocking chair also helps with students are experiencing hypervigilance. The easels will be used for students to demonstrate their work on.It will be use for spelling of new words and for constructing written sentences during reading .These items I believe without a doubt will grab the students attention and increase their interest in wanting to read more.
