Students will be offered the option to use flexible seating throughout the day, especially during independent work time. Due to COVID, many of my students have not been apart of in-person learning since Kindergarten and have had a difficult time adapting to being in a classroom again. Flexible seating will allow students to have an alternative workspace that can help increase engagement and stamina. Rather than having students sit at their desks all day I want to give them a few alternative options. Students will be given the option to complete their writing on the floor using a portable lap desk and sit on a portable reclining seat or floor cushion while reading. All of these options can be sanitized and cleaned daily to ensure safety while providing choice.
