Each semester, my students are required to independently read any book of their choice within their reading level. I have a diverse, bilingual library for my students to choose from. However, my current bookshelf is quite small, they often find themselves squatting, hunching over, or sitting on the floor looking for the right book. As an English teacher, I aspire to renew the love of reading in teenagers. I would love for my students to be able to browse comfortably for that perfect book, instead of choosing the first book they can reach! A warm, inviting library area would tremendously help us achieve that.
