Covid has changed a lot at our school. One big change is that my students are not able to play together because they need to distance, and they're not able to share toys or learning tools. When they go out to recess, only one classroom is allowed on the playground, and the rest of the students are playing on a small portion of an empty field. Outdoor play is so important, and these soccer balls would make possible an activity that all kindergarten students at my school could engage in when it's not their turn on the playground. It would also give students a now rare opportunity to play together because they'll only be sharing an object that is passed between their feet. When the soccer balls are not being used for free play during recess, the other kindergarten teachers and I would use them to teach our students PE. Students would learn about cooperation, perseverance, and the importance and joy of exercise.
