I chose literacy and math center activities to engage my students while they are in learning centers. I group 4-5 students together in a learning center. The objective is to further their understanding of a literacy or math concept. I have students of differing abilities so I need a wide variety of centers and centers that can be modified for individual needs. I will also use these materials when I am working with a small group of students and for individualized instruction. My students love to learn and are very creative! I need a wide range of centers as they go to centers daily and it is important to keep their interest. I will use the alphabet tubs with 1-5 students to reinforce beginning sounds and for individualized instruction with one child. I chose a variety of centers that are hands on and fun for younger children while still being highly educational.
