My students start the day at 7am. Many don't get a full nights sleep, so they need some caffeine to help them stay alert and able to learn that early. Many of my students come from homes that are not able to provide food consistently. Having snacks and drinks for students in my classroom helps get some food in their stomachs and saves them the embarrassment of asking their friends for some food. Students who also have a full stomach are more likely to be able to pay attention and focus on their schoolwork.
