The goal of our project is to give each student in my class a book to call their own. We want to create rich, engaging literature discussion and learning opportunities among students. With these books, we can build their love of reading and beliefs in themselves as Literacy Scholars. Many of our students do not have a book of their own, and having a high interest book to call your own helps students feel like they always have an adventure to explore. Students deserve time to read for enjoyment, talk about what they are reading, pose questions, think critically, and to hold conversations with their peers. Having these books for literature circles is one way that all of this can be accomplished. Thank you for supporting my learners and I as we take on our newest reading endeavors.
