A music store generously donated an entire band's-worth of instruments. However without things like reeds, valve oil, and slide grease, these instruments will be left useless and in need of repair in just a few months. Without reeds, my clarinet and saxophone students won't be able to play their instruments, at home or in school. without valve oil or slide grease, my trumpet and trombone players will not be able use their instruments. If a mouthpiece gets stuck, with no puller, it might be weeks before a repair shop can remove it. Covid has taken so many valuable experiences from these children. I don't want the joy of playing in school band to be one of them.
