Each Friday in Art class we will have Personal Project Fridays. Each Friday my middle school students will work on a project of their choosing, of their passion. Many of my students believe they are not creative or not artistic, and this project is here to change that thinking! Sure, not everyone might be a great painter or sculptor, but there is something in art for EVERYONE! The students who want to draw, can draw. Those who want to knit, will knit. And so on. I will individually conference with each student each week to check on progress and encourage them in their project. When they have finished a project, they will present it to the class, and it will be put on display. As with many in the arts, my budget is incredibly small. I only get about 2 dollars per student. This budget does not support my dream of every student getting to pursue a passion in art that they are excited about. By supporting this, you are supporting a specific student. You are showing a student that yes, YOU, YOU ARE AN ARTIST!
