I am excited to be a second-year Special Education teacher! Explode the Code is a research-based phonics program offered online and in booklet format. The workbooks will be used to provide practice, after direct instruction on phonics and early reading skills, for my special education students. This will provide writing practice also, which many students struggle with. The workbooks will provide daily practice to help close the gap with my struggling readers in Kindergarten through second grades. The hands-on materials will provide a more multi-sensory approach to learning letters and their sounds.
