The donations to this project will help my students read more books of their interests in addition to reading the work of authors that resemble them. I am implementing a chunk of time for students to read independently each day. This is my students' first time returning to a school building since the 7th grade, I want them to spend some time to reconnect with physical text and wander through literacy. These books will keep our independent reading program offerings strong, compelling, and reflective of the diverse backgrounds and interests of the awesome young humans that I'm privileged to hang out with each day.
