These materials will provide access to the general education curriculum and school community for our English Language Learners. For example, having The Outsiders as a graphic novel will help our newcomers connect with the story, interpret new vocabulary, and participate in the school-wide themed events like "Dress like a Greaser Day." Help our English Language Learners join their school community by providing equitable access to learning materials. Many of our students fall behind because we can't teach them grade level content when their reading level in English is disparate from their reading level in their native language. Having rich illustrations and multilingual resources with enable us to teach more content, skills, and vocabulary overall.
