Teaching Kindergarten not only means teaching students to read but also how to keep themselves organized. Book tote bags will be used so students can continue the practice of emergent reading at home. Books will be able to be safely transferred from the classroom, home and back again. At home students will use the books to read aloud to the teacher through an amazing digital program called seesaw. Due to COVID protocols students need to have their own materials especially math manipulatives including; counting cubes, number racks, number lines, dice, pattern tiles, polydrones, etc. Since my students sit at tables, storage is an issue. With chair pocket organizers students will be able to store their specific math materials in the pocket provided by each chair organizer right on their very own chair, making it both safe and easily accessible for our daily use.
