After being in quarantine and going back and fourth between in-person learning and remote learning, our kiddos lives were impacted drastically. These 1st graders have been impacted by the pandemic in a lot of ways specifically, emotionally. No one could've prepared them for such a traumatic experience. Social emotional learning and mindfulness are important aspects of our kiddos lives. These materials will help our rock stars cope with the aftermath of Covid-19 and have the resources to tame their feelings. I am committed to helping my students have the necessities they need to help their mental well being by creating a safe space in our classroom where they can withdraw when needed and take a mental break. A Bean Bag Chair will be available to use for students who are experiencing a rough day, to cool off in between subjects. The sensory toys will help students literally take matters into their own hands and release stress so that they can continue to take in their best learning. The motivational growth mindset posters will inspire students to develop a positive growth mentality.
