These books will serve as the main resource for a novel study that represents the theme of the reading classroom this year. The classroom has detailed pieces collected from this novel that students will discover as they read the book. Giving a book to each child allows them to read at their pace, follow along as they are read to and promote partner reading and discussion. Students will read a couple of chapters a week, respond to text dependent questions and writing prompts in a journal that will aide them in group discussion.
