Adding new material to our classroom library will aid in enriching the minds of our scholars. When scholars come across a text that suits their interests, they light up with enthusiasm and curiosity. In our classroom, independent reading is not required but is highly encouraged. My scholars enjoy a variety of texts. New books for our classroom library will give our scholars more opportunities to immerse themselves in new experiences where they can expand their minds through reading. Many of my scholars have requested that our classroom library be updated with young adult titles and series. The most popular authors read in our classroom include, Jeff Kinney, Betty G. Birney, J.K. Rowling, Rachel Renee Russel, and Rick Riordan.
