Eisenhower has created a mindfulness room which allows students to take charge of asking for a behavior or emotional break. During those breaks, with adult support, students are given the opportunity to choose the right tool that works for them to calm down and transition back to the classroom ready to learn. Currently there are very limited tools available to students in the mindfulness room. Most of them are printed fr0m Teacher Pay Teachers because we do not have enough funding to buy different tools. We have a broken small trampoline which needs to be replaced. As a team we have noticed that when students take those emotional/ behavior breaks, it helps them succeed academically in the classroom.
