In addition to the art based classes we already have, these classics can give students another experience in regards to art and literature. Most ready rarely, and what they read doesn't often challenge them to think beyond the basics of the story. With classics that are both interesting and relatable, students will have exposure to other genres and types of literature to help them with reading and writing in the ELA classroom. It can also engender a sense of accomplishment to read and understand something that seems remote at the beginning.
