This past year has effected the way we work in the classroom in many ways. One of them being the use of technology becoming a necessary piece in engaging our students. My school was very lucky in that our county decided to provide all title one schools with enough computers for each student. This is extremely beneficial when it comes to differentiating activities and meeting students where they are at. However, we are not so lucky to have the same ratio when it comes to headphones. Many of my students are not on grade level when it comes to reading. Students are often frustrated in subjects like ELA and Science. Computers allow for differentiating my instruction and provide opportunity for students to watch a video or use text to voice. Headphones will provide privacy for students and ensure that they are not distracted by what the person next to them is working on.
