Our biology course is based in inquiry, and relies heavily on the use of technology. Currently, we are learning about the story of a girl with an antibiotic resistant infection, why bacteria are resistant, and whether the age of antibiotics is at its end. Students have just created digital models of what they believe is happening within the body of the little girl with the resistant infection. The chromebooks our students use give them ability to record their new learning and add to their models over time. My students have shown me they are brilliant, and also forgetful. We use the computers each day in class, and when a student leaves their chromebook on the kitchen table, or leaves it sitting in their parent's car as they are dropped off, they lose the ability to fully participate and create in our course. My students have already come up with amazing ideas for questions to drive our investigation, and I want to make sure each one of them has the ability to record that thinking each day.
